The first ever Kokan Coastal Half Marathon was held on the first Sunday of the new year. The marathon was a huge success and there are already plans for a second marathon next year. The theme of the second marathon will be "Save Biodiversity".

Goal of the marathon is to promote biodiversity conservation in Kokan. Organizers are recruiting 100 farmers to plant trees throughout the region. The event will be held annually on the first Sunday of January, with the next one scheduled for January 5th, 2025.

The Ratnagiri Police Superintendent announced that the next half marathon organized by the Suvarnasurya Foundation will be held under the theme "Run for Biodiversity". The announcement was made during the inauguration of the first Kokan Coastal Half Marathon.
